nielsentech -Intellectual Property Right (To CEO) Urgent

Chinese Domain Name and Trademark Fraud Continues Unpunished

We have been reporting on the domain name and trademark scam for several months now and have even contacted APNIC about it, yet it still continues. The scam involves some form of the email below that alerts a company that someone is trying to register a trademark and/or domain names with your company name or trademark. The intent is to cause uncertainty and fear so that you register them with the company that is contacting you first.

What you need to know is that this is a COMPLETE SCAM run by liars. They have not been contacted by anyone. And even if you were worried about such things (and there are ways to protect yourself and regain trademarked domains) you would not want to do so with a Chinese company that HAS TO LIE TO GET YOUR BUSINESS. In addition, the fees they charge ARE EXCESSIVE!!! It is just pure greed that is driving this scam like so many others.

Do NOT contact these people unless you want to yell at them for being such jerks. If everyone did that they MIGHT get the message. And tell others about this scam if you get a chance. If this message helps you, please post a comment or email us at webmaster1 at this domain and we'll post if for you.

Dear CEO,

We are a domain name registrar centre in HongKong.and in charge of the registeration in Asia.We have something important need to confirm with your company.

On the December 10,2008, we received an application formally from M-Victor Corp who applied for the  Internet  trademark:
"nielsentech  " and some domain names relevant to this trademark from our organization.

During our auditing procedure we find out that the M-Victor Corp has no trade mark, Intellectual property, nor patent even similar to that word.we have the duty to inform you this matter. If you do not know this company, we doubt that they have other aims to buy these domain names. Now we have not finished the registration of M-Victor Corp yet, in order to deal with this issue better, please let someone who is responsible for trademark or domain name contact me as soon as possible.

(PS:If you are not in charge of this matter, please transfer this email to appropriate dept.)
Best Regards,
Jerry.Lee
Auditing Chairman

Domain Names at Rip-off Prices!

Can you believe how greedy some people are? It only costs about $10 to register a domain name and here they are charging about 10 times the normal rate. I hope nobody falls for this scam...!

Actually if they were really selling these domains, I would pay 10 times their asking price!

This site contacts people about domains that are expired, but it acts like they own them. There site is configured to display the same price no matter what domain is in the URL.... dcinchq.com/checkout.php?domain=microsoft.com

List of Stolen Domain Names - 12/07/2008
I just read in Domain Name News that a guy who has been stealing domain names set up a site to sell them. While the site was taken down now, he may try to sell them someplace else, so I am making a copy of the list that I found
here:

People may see it and check before they buy any of the names:

Domainers Get New Domain Name Community

New Domain Name Community Focusing on Safer Trading Launches

New York, NY, November 26, 2008 -- Today, DNF24 has announced the launch of its new Domain Name Forum, focusing on a friendly, fair and safe domain name trader marketplace while providing advice and industry related news. The community can be found at
http://dnf24.com/

"Being Domainers ourselves, we know what domain name professionals are looking for - a safe and friendly place where business can be done. There are many similar communities out there, but we noticed there is enough space to launch a friendlier and also safer place to buy, sell and trade domain names. Besides offering a place where Domainers can trade their assets, we also focus on educating people who are new to domain names by providing useful content to prevent them from getting scammed", DNF's Founder said.

Looking at the site's rules and guidelines, it is clear that the makers have a mission: Supporting people who are interested in domain names and looking to do business online by providing a place where people with similar interests meet.

Currently the site features various discussion categories such as general domain name talk, categorized marketplace areas featuring domain sales, trades and also sections where people in need of domain names can post their requests.

Besides that, registered community members can also make use of the site's virtual online shop where topics can be featured, domain names which are listed on Sedo.com can be listed for additional exposure and much more.

Industry specific content such as articles like "Avoid Getting Scammed" and other educational information and research tools round up DNF24's service offerings. The site has also announced future services such as live auctions where domain name buyers and sellers can bid on each other's valuable domain names in real-time.

As a special launch promomotion, visitors who become an active site member will receive a Christmas present on December 25th 2008, worth at least twenty-five dollars. There is no cost attached to become a DNF24 member.

About DNF24

SixStrokeEngine.com

SixStrokeEngine.com

We just got a message that someone might be interested in our domain, SixStrokeEngine.com which if you have not heard about before, can be found by searching Google or at Wikipedia. This is a very interesting idea and I couldn't resist picking up the domain when I saw it was available. The concept that an engine creates heat as a waste product and if you could take that heat and convert it your engine would be more efficient.

The Six Stroke Engine that I learned about does this by adding two strokes to a four-stroke engine where water is injected into the cylinder and the resulting steam powers the last stroke. You get more power and the engine runs cooler. Duh! Great invention if it works.

This is your Final Notice of Domain Notification - HORSE-RACING-SYSTEMS.US

Another Domain Registration Scam

If you receive an email like this I suggest you do one of two things:

1) You can report the message as spam to www.spamcop.net. They can trace who sent it and often get the accounts that are used closed.

2) You can ignore the message and then register the domain they mention at your registrar of choice for the normal fee. If you register the domain with the scammer, you will have to FAX them the information because they are a spammer and they are charging you about 10 TIMES the normal free of $8. Yes, if you register with them for one year it will cost you $75! That's almost what it would cost you to register the domain for 10 years at most honest registrars.

I just checked at www.domaintools.com and the domain they are telling me about is not registered, so I can register it at Domainsite.com, Namecheap.com, Name.com, or anyplace I want to.

Aside from the massive overcharging of fees, you also have to wonder who the hell these people are and why they have to hide what they do? Well, I think that is pretty clear. They are spammers and they may also be scammers as well, so you risk paying the money and getting NOTHING in return.

We advise that you NEVER use products or services that are advertised in spam or unsolicited commercial email (UCE). If someone contacts you with a personal message, that's not so bad, but anything like this is spam and should be reported.

Domain Auction of WI-FI.BIZ Starts At $10

Nielsen Technical Services owner Chris Nielsen has decided to auction off their domain, wi-fi.biz at Namepros.com. He has placed a starting bid of only $10 and a "Buy It Now" or BIN price of $275. While the economy has slowed in general, high tech domain names are still popular and commanding prices somewhat higher than domains on other topics.

"This is a good domain and we think it's priced right. The low starting bid price is designed to get domainers and other investors interested and make sure we sell the domain. Someone could walk away with a great deal.", said Nielsen. "While the .biz TLD is not overly popular, all the other TLDs are taken. And the domain contains a hyphen which tends to lower domain value in general, but with wi-fi most people that search for the term use a hyphen and that is the most common spelling. In this case, the hyphen should help the value or at least not detract from it."

The domain has been "incubated" under the care of the company's DomainIncubation.com division, which works to increase domain name value for clients and their own portfolio. Those interested in the domain can find all the details about this 7 year old, PR1 domain that has over 400 backlinks at:
